founder’s note

“I founded this studio to create architecture that is deeply personalized, transformative, and designed to evolve with the people who live in it. “

Fabian Lorenz, principal architect

who we are

Fabian Lorenz founded his own studio in 2021 after more than a decade of experience with globally renowned architects including Bjarke Ingels Group, Skidmore Owings & Merrill as well as Leeser architecture. Working with these high-class designers, his involvement spanned large-scale civic projects, residential and mixed-use developments across North America, academic buildings, and research into prefabrication and large-scale 3D printing in collaboration with NASA.

His practice is driven by curiosity, technical expertise, and a firm belief that custom-tailored architecture that responds to the specific living conditions of each client can promote health, wellbeing and longevity. lorenz enforces this idea by offering the option for passive House certification, as he is committed to building for high-performing interior comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

aesthetically, lorenz draws from his viennese heritage, experience with scandinavian design, and passion for contemporary classical music.

As a visiting professor at Pratt Institute and hillier college of art and design, Lorenz’s research centers on the ecological imperatives of our time and on how architecture can embrace a future that is both technologically progressive and deeply attuned to the natural world. He explores architecture as a spatial translation of a social structures and continuously advances his approach to suit a more just, healthy, and sustainable built environment.
