this 3,000 sf townhouse over 3 stories and a cellar was converted from a 3-family into a 2-family residence.

Intelligent planning and reconfiguration of the spaces allowed us to recapture surface area previously lost to circulation. Movable elements introduce additional flexibility. The project is governed by the principle of generational living that will facilitate the owners to fully adapt the house to their changing needs as they themselves, their children, and their parents age. At various stages of the life-cycle of the project, different members of the family will inhabit this structure in different areas and provisions are made to allow easy adaptation at every step along the way.
